Tenant demand has been on the rise since London was elected to host the Olympic Games and Paralytic Games 2012 in 2005. Since the bid, several major regeneration projects proposed for Stratford has been in prompted progress. Sights such as these below, only a stones through from the Stadium, are one of many plots the Council wishes to develop for new residential and commercial spaces for the public and tourists. The "Olympic Delivery Authority" (ODA) governs the construction of the events venues and surrounding plots, such as the "Olympic Village" which will accommodate athletes.
Similar to the suburban Hackney Wick, there are still areas plotted branching just shy of the busy Stratford Tube and Bus Station that are still waiting for some purpose-built landscaping. Scattered around this area are over 5,000 facilities such as homes, public spaces, and offices intended to convert into a metropolitan centre of East london.
A lot of charming 1970s and 80s built industrial sites still remain in this town, and there is an interesting mix of modernist and contemporary architecture laced on each main street. Small businesses and offices compete with new names that flourish in months. The competitive climate with small businesses have become increasingly strong in this segment of east London.
